Bike storage

Is it ok to store your bike hanging by its saddle ? As in hooking the front of the saddle over a horizontal bar as close to the seat post as possible.

    yer, a lot of bike shops service bikes like that. just hang by the rails not the squidgy bits.

    oh and make sure you don't have like cast iron rims or ought too heavy on your dog

    Used the same method in my workshop when I lived at home but the bottom of the saddle started to get damaged from the weight of the bike hanging from such a small contact point so I wrapped some bubblewrap round the rafter I used to hang the bike from. Might have burst the bubbles but it soften the impact on the saddle.
    I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
