Hi there,

I am new here and would like to ask you what you think about:

Trek Top Fuel 7

I am thinking to buy this for my girlfriend. We are riding mostly offroad/trials but not extreme downhills jumps or something similar. We are looking for full susp and around 1000 pounds.
I really like this bike and i saw clearance sale for 899 pounds so i think its a good offer. But what you think?

Spec:

Very good for the money. But will it fit? Try one out if you can. She may prefer a ladies specific model.

I do not know. I read something about TOP types are more race bikes and rear shock doesn't provide big/long travel. not sure, I am not such a good expert at this things so i am looking for some advice.

We are going to try one tomorrow. I was looking also on:

    SCOTT Aspect FX-15 (2008)
    SARACEN Ariel 2 (2008)
    SCOTT Aspect FX-25 (2008)
    GT FORCE 3.0

Do not know, there is some many bikes in 800-1100 range with different specs...

Force and Ariel have a lot of travel, and not that light. I'd stick to around 100mm front and back for the riding you suggest.

Maybe a silly question, but is a 90mm rear travel enough and comfortable for cross country riding? I really like that Trek bike :).

Its plenty! Not always about how much travel, but the quality of it.

0mm is plenty for XC - hardtails can cope with as much as full sussers for this type of riding. That 90mm of travel will be plenty, and will certainly make the experience more comfortable (providing the bike fits well)

Thank you very much for all your help, we are going to try one today. I want full susp because she had one before.
