I would, but I have serious reservations about the green LEDs on the back, why not do what other vehicles do? Red for illumination. More red for braking!

  • The LEDs in the arms I can see as a minor safety advantage, but green lights in the jacket that change to red when you slow down? is a slowing bicycle that much of a problem?
I have an LED rear light, to which I added a velcro strap so I can attach to my right ankle. Pedalling it goes, up and down and round and round, definitely gets drivers attention, and it cost about 50p for the strap, and a couple of quid for the light. Also use a light fixed to bike

other entries "included a tangle-proof sailing rope, underwear which can correct posture and a toilet which analyses waste"

    I wonder why they didn't win? :?

*snip* ... is a slowing bicycle that much of a problem?
I do sometimes get nervous if I brake hard in traffic, due to the lack of brake lights - especially if I'm in primary doing the same speed as everyone else! I have idly wondered about rigging some sort of brake light...

Doubt I'd wear that jacket though. The one time I put a light on the loop on the back of my current jacket, I seemed to get shouted at* from passing cars / pedestrian chavs all the way home - don't know why, it just seemed to trigger some primeval instinct in their dim consciousness. Not something I've ever bothered to repeat!

*"Ha, ha , ha, look at his flashing arse!" for example. Along with the usual "Weeeuuaaeerrrggghhhh!" from the cars of course.
Even if the voices aren't real, they have some very good ideas.

when i was a kid, I got a bike which had a rear brake light on it.

    something like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370039444251&mpt=1207916676648&tGUID=3ca2b2791150a09c16f43fa4ff99376b

Not exactly cutting edge then is it?

I was also thinking about the toilet waste examiner.......the only way that could be worse if is it was hooked up to your fridge, so that it would not allow you to have any cakes if it detected you had too much cakes already!
Whenever I see an adult on a bicycle, I believe in the future of the human race.

It may be worth it just to freak out motorists as you change colour 8) Though the orange arm bits seem like a pretty cool idea.

Where is the accelerometer attached?

I think it would be useful to make use of the accelerometer technology coupled with a standard lighting system to increase the light brightness when braking. I'm not sure it necessarily has it's place built into a jacket. I don't always wear a jacket for example but I always keep a rear light attached to my commuting bike.
