Why does it always rain on me?

Every day this week (4 so far), it's started raining almost exactly as I've left work (4:40pm) and then on 3 of those days it's stopped as soon as I've arrived home.

Yesterday was the worst of the lot. I was cycling on some paving slabs coming up to some traffic lights, and the next thing I knew I was winded, facing the way I'd come, lying on my front and sliding feet first. After I'd come to a halt, and convinced the pedestrian I'd just passed I was ok, I got up and checked myself and my bike over. As I started walking towards the crossing I immediately slipped again and nearly fell over, it was like ice.

My right brake lever (it's a fixie, so no STIs) has twisted inwards on the bars slightly, and I'm missing a little bit of bar tape. My DHB Tribe jersey had black stuff all up the chest. I have a huge bruise on my right thigh, and I think I've jarred my left wrist and bicep, and my right triceps as they're both sore today.

I think there must have been some sap or something down on the flag stones which the water had made unbearably slippery. As it was raining again today I altered my route and went through Cov City Centre to avoid the slippery paving slabs.

You're not alone, I've had it everyday this week but on the way into work, luckily no spills yet.

Tuesday was the worst, I was able to pour water out of my trainers when I went for a shower.

Every cloud has a silver lining and all, I've just taken delivery of a pait of Gore-tex lined The North Face trainers today so no wet feet tonight on the way home.

Did you lie when you were 17?

The opposite has happened to me this week. I get home just as it starts to rain. Sorry 8)

When I rode to work it would rain all the way then stop when I got to work
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

    I knew somebody would :D.

For the record, I was very honest when I was 17, which makes this turn of events even more unfair!

I'm British, of course I don't really mind the rain. Being British I also love having something to complain about - hence the above post. :D

Bone dry every trip so far this week. Hope that isn't tempting fate *casts a nervous eye at the stormheads gathering over London*

I've been waiting all week to get properly rained on so I can test the new Gore-Tex helmet cover... It's persisting down here at the mo so I might finally be lucky tonight.

What really gets me down is when I faff about putting the wet weather gear on and it just spits a bit and stops. Bloody annoying.
