Its getting quiet again in here - Is it still dead busy on the rest of the forum?

I'm sure we need to have a "place" for all our antics but re-name it something else, other than the sandbox?

I am loving the hint of nice weather, can't wait till it gets a bit warmer.
How is everyone?

The nice weather is killing me! I can't leave the house, let alone go out on the bike - I have two VERY nasty blisters on my heels. Looks like it's going to be a few days before they clear up too!

At the risk of starting an argument  , I'm not a fan of the warm weather. Went out on Tuesday evening in the rain, flying through the local woods with a cool breeze on my face and damp mud under my tyres, and it was the best ride I'd had in months. I overheat too quickly once the temperature hits double figures!

he he I must admit I melt in the double figures, however this morning was ace, blue sky, sun and a crisp bite in the air - perfect cycling weather!

Shame I was on my way to work!

True about heating up in hot weather. It makes riding so much easier though, not having to stop every 2 minutes cos theres no traction and the bak wheel is slipping on mud, not having to clean the bike every 2 miles cos the wheels won't actually turn theres that much mud !!

Looking forward to it being hard surafces and dusty, its just difficult when its caked with mud everywhere.

This summer will be the first proper summer with a decent bike - Hopefully I'll get into a routine of going out lots and that will spill over into the winter, and I'll be more accepting of the bad weather and mud? Who knows!

Love riding when the weathers nice, just annoys me that all the tw@ts who can't ride, walk, pay attention too who else is about also come out and generally p!ss me off! Don't get me wrong, I think its good that people get out in the countryside, but why do they need to take up all the available width of a trail or randomly stop in the middle of a path?

On a positive note, it's the first year I've bothered buying any clothes suitable for winter riding and it felt good last weekend cycling past a group, huddled under a tree, dressed in t-shirts taking a hammering from the hail stones!

And finally (this could be my longest ever post!) I see nothing wrong with the Sandbox title but think it could lose the MBUK prefix, and possibly join with the Arms and/or Off Topic.

I thank you for your concentration if you made it this far.

p.s What happened to the Top 10 Films results?????

died a death - I come on here too sporadically nowadays to properly do something like that, was good while it lasted though, I know you are a big fan of the top 10 stuff!

So I'm just booking a test ride for the Dalby demo day - I've narrowed it down to the following choices

    Ibis Mojo - 140mm full C/F monster

Santa Cruz Nomad - 165mm all mountain

Trek Fuel EX8 - The most intelligent 5inch bike I'll ever ride apparently.

I think I'll just go ahead and book all 3 - I'll have all day after all !

Is the Santa Cruz the better of the 3 bikes?
