It's amazing what a little motivation can do!

I managed to set a new PB for average speed on my commute home yesterday afternoon :-)
I suspect this was more to do with the phone call I had taken 20 minutes earlier tho, plus the fact that I was only just over 2 miles from home!

I got the one phone call I had been waiting on for the last 2 weeks, the "It's started, get home now!" call from my then pregnant wife!

I managed to average 18.5MPH on the 2.1 mile route from central Croydon to my house near the palace football ground along mostly main roads, and topped out at 28.5MPH at one point :-)

Just as well I made good time and was quite local as the wife's water's went about 20 minutes after I got in and we where in hospital about 30 minutes after that! The eventual outcome is that I now have another little person to teach how to ride a bike in about 3 years time, and my first boy after previous 4 girls :-)

Agreed, all the very best to all of you...you must be exhausted. Go and have a beer.

Already got both of them :-) It has been quite fun with 4 girls and the boy is a welcome change! Seems to have taken after his dad as he's quite short (our smallest at 51cm) but really solidly built - at 11lb 4oz, he was out 2nd heaviest! Yes I did say second, the one before him was 11lb 7oz but 9 cm longer, but then we seem to breed em big as our smallest was still 9lb 70z :-)

He's feeding none stop so the poor wife hasn't had much sleep but she should hopefully be coming home soon, then the real "fun" starts!

My wife and I got fed up of waiting at the hospital to bring the kids home, so the last two we had at home, its really nice being on your own terms, having the comfort of you own living room. (the other kids get picked up by the grandparents when labour begins.)

Damn you have been busy! I'm surprised you have any strength left to ride a bike! Congratulations though.
    It's all good.

We had a homebirth with the previous one, but as the waters where a bit murky we decided it best to go down to hospital as we'd agreed with them - it was the only way to get them to leave us alone!
