Peterborough - where to go?

Hello everyone,
My girlfriend wants to get into this adventure racing / mountain biking / triathlon sort of races, we've both got mountain bikes but don't know where to go, especially as Peterborugh's flat! We're both novices so we don't want to go hurtling off the tops of cliffs just yet! Does anyone know of any clubs etc.?

    Chicksands is near Bedford which has lots of different styles of riding and something for most abilities

    They have a club but they organise one-off events rather than rides

    Just because its flat does not mean less fun.

    There is loads of briddleways and you have got Rutland for a fun circuit.

    Get a good OS map or Memory map and you will be able to take some great off shoots from the green wheel.

    I have about 5/6 regular routes all of 20 plus mikes which have some good bits along them

    Also Thetford is not far away for more excitment!
