Bottom Bracket Question

hello
i'm getting the bits togetther for my fixie build and have got stuck with the bottom bracket, was originally going to use a campag chainset and a miche bb to allow me to dial in a nice straight chainline but have just got hold of a zen messenger chainring so will be using a shimaNo pattern crankset, it is square taper but obviously a different taper to the campag one (jis not iso i think) i seem to remember that it is possible to use a mix one way but not the other but can't remember which is ok, anyone out there help me? ideally would like to use the miche bb as they are cheap and allow the chainline to be adjusted, if not does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

a Shimano chainset (JIS) will sit further on to a campag (ISO) BB than a campag c/set would. Hence you may find it 'bottoms out'. The taper itself is the same angle, it's just the cross sectional size that is different.
If your JIS chainset still sits on the Miche taper okay, then you should be fine. Your chainline/Q will be a bit less but only a mm or so.Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0 -

Wish I did  It just happens to be the best source for answers to questions like this. The amazing thing is that Sheldon Brown never attempted to charge for it.0
