Chainring and chain for single speed

I am just about to take delivery of a new back wheel for my singlespeed commute bike and it has a 11t sprocket.
I am going to also replace the chain and chainring as you would expect and am looking on recommendations for both.
I used to run a shimano saint downhill mtb ring which is excellent and has very little wear after 18 months solid riding but too large at 46t for the new 11t sprocket.
I am considering a salsa or maybe a steel surly chainring and possibly a full half link chain (3/32).
Any thoughts welcome.
Cheers

Currently run 46/16 but about to change to 42/15 as I want to lose the tensioner on my GT.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0
