..is it just me or are there more aggressive women drivers out there than there used to be? Kind of like "ladets" in cars.

  • You mean Chav's in clapped out peugeot 105's or Fiestas?

Not just "chav" types. Woman in a large 4x4 this morning on her mobile trying to bully me off the road at a series of traffic islands, driving to close, revving her engine. The kind of behaviour I'd expect from a WVM. Further down the road I hear a car tooting it's horn, I look around and it would appear the woman behind was tooting her horn just because I was there, I was barely in secondary!!

It's the time of year - we always get more aggressive and stupid road users around the equinoxes/change in the clocks.

I've had a few of these horn incidents lately, not sure what people think they are trying to achieve.

Also hello to the guy in a 911 outside Lords yesterday, yes I did bang on your window cos you were yakking into your phone while overtaking me

  • man. its the women in the big 4x4s who are always the worse. i have no idea why this is the case but these drivers seem to combine distraction, aggression and arrogance in the worst possible way..
  • Never mind, they are all on credit and will soon be returning to the dealer :D:D

I had some woman in a BMW riding up my backside (ooh er) talking on her mobile the other day. Was tempted to knock on the window and ask her to put the phone down but didn't get the opportunity.

A Women thought it would be funny once on tight bend to give me no room and tryed to push me right against the curb when trying to overtake me heading towards a red light (pointless).

when I mad eye contact her and her mother were laughing, but what was even funnier was that she stalled the car at the lights, I was infront of the car laughing and just couldnt resist having a quick word giving her tips on how to drive.

Well all the hassle I've had lately has been from men, as it happens. I thought the group of lads yelling at me out of their car were particularly impressive.

There are male idiot drivers and female idiot drivers, there's no point generalising.

Like those that did it to me earlier!

Fun how they never hang around to let us have our turn...

Well this is the thing...I had no chance for any intelligent comeback/conversation, because they were going too fast. So they got sworn at instead, at the top of my voice. Perhaps as we speak they've started a thread on a motor forum about aggressive women cyclists...

On the basis most people struggle to drive right in small cars, do you expect them to get better in bigger cars?

I think it was more of an observation than me generalising. I expect twatish and aggressive behaviour from male drivers, I've just found that recently I've come across more aggressive women. I'm not talking about "women drivers" , I'm talking about women who are acting like impatient WVM (shouting, swearing, death threats etc.) Not very lady like behaviour.

Lighter evenings have brought the first of the fair weather cyclist brigade back onto the streets. Queue an increase in RLJing, people bimbling out of junctions without looking and (most irritatingly of all) slower cyclists pushing to the front of queues only to need over taking again after 20yrds. Still at least some of the pretty young things are shedding their winter coats

Think I might take up my uncle's advice & visibly secure a hammer to the webbing on my camelbak!
He seems to think this could definitely reduce aggressive driving towards cyclists!

There are aggressive blokes and aggresive women, in Slough it seems to be the women who like to get too close. I know I'm a good looking bloke but wing mirrors arn't designed to clip my handlebars!
Towards Maidenhead its the blokes who get closer and its usually the ones that keep getting stuck at the lights. They don't seem to like when a cyclist filters down the outside and gets away from the lights 1st - especially the bloke in the 911 a few weeks ago! I didn't know they were that slow to 20 mph . . .

One fine day in the middle of the night, two dead men got up to fight. Back to back they faced each other, drew their swords and shot each other.
