hi guys.Any idea,s as to why the right hand campag centaur 10 sp gear lever jams up when top gear is selected.I,m unable to shift back down unless i operate the upshift and downshift together. This for some reason seems to free it off. Can,t see any obvious obstruction underneath the hood. doesn,t happen all the time, can be annoying when starting aclimb after a fast decent (Autum Epic twice) last year, happened last Sunday once

I had this trouble on one lever - the left side in my case. I ramp up, but cannot ramp down. because the rachet mechanism has been locked out by the ramp-up detent which has not fully cleared the indexing cog. I tap the big lever back a tad and it seems to release the cog and allow the ramp down button to work. It doesn't happen too often so I live with it.

If this is a new unit, send it back to your supplier. If not, you can get it repaired by Mercian Cycles at http://www.merciancycles.co.uk/

    Hope this helps

Ah - interesting - Been having problems with my left (chainring) shifter (Veloce).
Phantom downshifting from the trim position - sometimes, no trim available - sometimes the button doesn't even click.
LBS (Dauphin on Box Hill) said they can strip it down and fit new springs for me.

Does the bottom of your shift lever stick out beyond the brake lever?

symptoms sound the same as jimwin,s Does feel as if the lever is travelling to far over.Weak or damaged detent spring sounds like a possible fault.Thinking back i can remember this being metioned by the Willier rep at last years Epic ride.definetly repairable,,lot cheaper than a new lever. Thanks guys for your help
