I was wondering who is still building?

Helmut stopped building not long after the 2000 article, and obviously George Longstaff isn't.

    M. Steel stopped building in 2005. I don't think anyone makes Bates frames anymore, either.

I dunno if Chas Bland, Tom Board, Dave Russell or Rob Telfer are still in the business.

  • To resurrect a long dead thread, Rob Telfer built me my first and only custom frame in 1990/91. My dad's still riding it as his only bike, albeit with a few component upgrades. I'll have to see if he's got any pics of it as it was originally built. As far as I can tell, Rob's no longer in the frame building business, which is a shame, given the quality of his work. But Google show a Rob Telfer working as a signwriter in Dipton, Co. Durham. it'd be a hell of a coincidence if it wasn't the same bloke.
