Cullens and Vasse Felix are good makers. If your going for Cabernet in Oz go for Coonawara area, for Shiraz then McLaren Vale or Barossa.
Other good ones are (as metioned) Petaluma, Arakoon, Dutschke, Penley, Rusden, Torbreck, Shotfire Ridge all make smooth and silky wines that drink far too easily.
Spain is a really exciting wine country, CUNE and more so Muga make some nice examples of Rioja, so do Artadi, Marquis Murrietta.
Others that are GREAT values from younger producers that are making a real impact include Artazuri, Tres Picos, Capcanes, Castell del Remei, Castano. All great wines for drinking now that are juicy and delicious fro £5 to £10.
Another one from Spain I had last night and just had to finish the bottle was Valpiculata Puerta Novas, Toro 2004 cracking red for around 7 quid. Search it out, its a beaut for the price.

You can get the Cune in waitrose...both red and white...the latter being pretty good..check out the waitrose and tescos wine festivals for some bargains. Definitely a plus for the Amarone,,always worth seeking out some italians. Pescquerra (pescarra)..i think...a really tasty spanish red.

Yes please! :P
A little pricey though.
Romanee Conti made by Domaine de la Romanee-Conti is even more pricey and much more rare.
Check out this place for really rare, expensive wines, go to Red Burgundy and have a look at the above producer or Henri Jayer.
