currently rebuilding bike and just put bb and chainset on. the one side is flush, but realised the part with the plastic spacer is not completely flush to the frame, am i going to have to take crank off and tighten

it went in a good few turns and there is no play in the crank whatsoever, should i be ok

only asking cos the tool i have to remove cranks is for square taper

the drive side needs to be tight but the other side is not so important it should be fine

Did you install it to the recommended torque, and were the shell threads properly cleaned and lubed with anti-sieze grease before installation? If not, it may well be too loose.

not sure if it was correct torque, tight enough though and there is no play.

i cleaned out the thread and there was small greese already on bb, read too much is not too good as can work itself loose
