Hi all,

Does anyone have any recommendations for padded pants/trousers that cope well in the british climate - i.e. keep you warm after a soaking from the never ending puddles but you don't overheat in when the sun comes out for the climb back up - skinny fit lycra or more casual.

Obviously the cheaper the better!

Cheers,

so you want magic trousers? get some wicking lycra 3/4 length shorts and be done with it.

A popular adage is, there is no such thing as bad weather only bad prep.

So you have to tailor your riding gear to the current climate. I vary between lycra wicking leggings over padded shorts under waterproof trousers and padded lycra shorts under fluorescent pink shorts!

    cheers!

lol - magic trousers would be great!

Do you have any specific makes / models to recommend?* I'm a bit bamboozled by the vast array of lycra, padding and bibs / non bib / shorts that are out there!

    *aside from the pink shorts!!

dhb stuff from wiggle's very good for the money. I use padded bib tights and shorts, 3/4 length merstons kept me nice and snug during the hail on Saturday, unlined bib shorts if its not likely to be that cold and padded boxers during the warmest months under baggies. http://www.wiggle.co.uk/ProductDetail.a ... b%20Tights
