Hi,
I'm close to fully spec'ing a single speed 29er, but I'd like some suggestions for hubs and rims. I intend to use disk brakes.
Cheers,
Dave

X470 Rims are nice. I run a 26" version thats similar and it builds up to be a nice wheel.

XT hubs are the best for the price I reckon, but the DT ones are a bit more swish with all the cartridge bearings and shiz. Plus the DT hubs are driled with tighter fitting spoke holes that make a much stronger wheel.0 -
thanks for the links!
very helpful.0 -
Mavic TN719 rims, hope hubs or xt if you want to save the monies. I'd also recommend sapim cx-ray spokes, super!0

I didn't know that Hope did a single speed/disk brake hub?
I have just looked on their website and couldn't find them...

just get a 9 speed pro2 and get a single speed conversion kit for about tenner06 Kona Blast with RS Tora solo airs0

the trials one has more engagement and is ss specific, but not screw on.
If you're feeling a bit flash, CK make very nice hubs (which are pretty cheap from aspire velotech)0
