Anyone else had a go at bleeding Hope brakes using this kit?

I have just tried to do my Mono Minis with it and after a short period of time empted DOT 5.1 all over my floor, after thouroughly coating my calipers & levers with it, despite following the instructions to the letter.

Feeling a bit miffed to say the least.

I knew I should have just taken it to the shop but I wanted to have a go.

That'll teach me.

Basically what I'm looking for is any tips and/or bad experiences to prop me up a bit after my rather deflating stab at this bleeding thing.

I bit of plastic pipe and an old pot noodle container always works for me!

Exactly - Maybe I should have tried that instead!

Me, i just switched to formula instead, i syringe, i tube and a brass nipple to plug into the master cylinder.

I have neard of people using a track pump rather than a tyre as you can control the pressure better, helping to prevent the fluid from going everywhere.
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.
