TREK 7300

Hello All, I've been a "lurker" on this board for months and have learned masses from all of you - particularly, never to get involved in an RLJ discussion. Can anyone help me out with this: I am looking for a local bike shop in North London / Hertfordshire that has a TREK 7300 in stock that I can test-ride. I know of several TREK stockists, but I'm after one that has a 7300 in the store right now. Any help would be much appreciated.

I might be able to help.
I recently bought a Trek 7.5 FX through a bike to work scheme with Evans. They didn't have the model in stock at my local store, so I phoned them up and 'guessed' the frame size I would need (was a bit of a novice at this). I made it clear that the frame size might be wrong and they said it would be fine as I could try it out. They woul order it from their warehouse and call me when it came in.
Sure enough, when it arrived at their store a few days later, I turned up and they actually actively encouraged me to take it for a test spin for about 20 minutes. I was quite impressed with the service and the fact that they trusted me enough not to disappear into the sunset with a £500 bike. They basically said if the bike wasn't right, they would send it back to the warehouse.
As it turns out it was fine, but my advice is give someone like Evans a call as the bigger stores don't seem to mind getting a bike in and sending it back if it isn't for you.0 -
Hi,
I can't help with a bike shop in your area but I might be able to offer a bit of advice on the bike. I was looking to get the same bike as well and was lucky enough that my LBS had both the 7300 and the 7.3 FX.
After a test ride on both and a bit of good advice from the guys at the shop, mainly about not really needing the suspension on the front if you are mainly riding on the road and the slightly racier set up on the 7.3FX, thinner wheels with slick tyres and difference in weight, I decided to go for that model. A bit cheaper (£20) but the fact it hasn't got front suspension means that the components on it are a step up from the 7300.
After three weeks of riding it (15 mile round trip) I can't say I've got any complaints, most of my commute is on the road with about 1/2 mile on a gravel track and grass and the 7.3FX handles it really well without the need for the suspension forks.0 -
You could try http://www.shorter-rochford.co.uk/
They have stores in Finchley and Potters Bar. Got mt Giant SCR2 from there which they ordered in for me. They stock Treks so if they don't have the bike you're after they'll get one in for you and let you test ride it. Not sure if they'll order it without taking a deposit though, but worth trying.0
