Want to Change fork.

hi all
I have a 2008 Marin B17 with the RockShox Tora 302 Solo Air and want to change this to something better.
I have been offered the chance to get a Fox 32 Vanilla for £100 from a friend who is emigrating. The fork is only 2 months old and barely used, however is 10mm more travel.
My question is will this 10mm extra make any discernable difference to the feel etc of the bike, Marin fit the Vanilla to the Rocky Ridge and as far as i can tell they are the same frame.
And going off the geometry details on Marins website both bikes have the same angles.
From what i can find the axle to crown heights of the two forks are:
Tora = 505mm
Vanilla = 510mm
So if correct only 5mm difference.
Anyway i'am a total noob at this sort of stuff so any advice will be appreciatted.

It won't make any diffrence other that feeling alot better.
one thing you should check is to make sure that the steerer tube length is long enough.
Any way at that price they are a steal!0 -
Feel a lot flexier too. If you want 140mm hardcore pertomance, think about getting a Pike and a thru axle.0

But for 100 quid ;-)
What year is it?0 -
the forks are 07 but imacculate used about 5 times.
was tempted to go for a pike and some proII 's but the axle to crown is 520mm so 15mm more from what i can find out, will this not mess up head angles etc
the current angle going off marins website is 67.5 with a 120 fork. would the longer fork slack/steep this its one area i dont get yet, what effect does it have?

Tilts your weight back, slows handling down, adds stabilty to steering, raises bottom bracket.
Seems a good deal, but I think you'll notice it flex more than the Tora.0 -
yeah your right sonic, however an immaculate pair of foxs for £100, you could buy them and fit them to your bike, and if you decide they are to flexy then you just sell them for much more then you bought them for. Take advantage of this amazing deal.0

I'd get the foxs, if you dont like them could always resell them on eBay, could get a profit!Me like trials biking me do0

have took the foxes as price to good, not fitted yet but will get round to it, will sell on if not happy.
