A mate is offering these for sale at the moment:

they seem a bit old to me, would you bother? what would you say they are worth?
ooh by the way, they are to go on my Giant Terrago
Thanks.

hes asking £60 at the moment, it seems a good price but they are 3 or 4 years old!
quote:
Originally posted by king andrew the 1st

The conidition isn't too tatty in appearence.. stickers and a few scratches and they have been on a GT pro series, used for the occasional jump but they still ride smooth.
quote:
Originally posted by king andrew the 1st

i would say try and get them for £50 as that is a fairer price considering i got all mountain1's from 2006 for £1000

the other thing is that with my current forks the steerer is around 2-3mm from the top of the stem but these MXs have been cut down to 180mm so I will have to remove all of spacers except a 5mm on and the steerer will be around 10mm from the top of the stem, will this be ok?
quote:
Originally posted by king andrew the 1st

that should be fine, i've got around a 5mm gap with my carbon fibre spacer and thats absolutely fine.0

ok cool, thanks for your help im not in any rush to buy them really unless the price gets better.. I think I only thing that is putting me off is the age of the fork.
quote:
Originally posted by king andrew the 1st

Given that you can buy a pair of new Toras for as little as £100,by the time you have these serviced,is it worth it?2006 Giant XTC
2010 Giant Defy Advanced
2016 Boardman Pro 29er
2016 Pinnacle Lithium 4
2017 Canondale Supersix Evo0 -
I have a pair of 2006 120mm MX Comps which i paid £140 for new.
I think they are excellent value for money and will take reasonable drop offs and the wee jumps that I can manage0
