The Poggio isn't exactly the Galibier and Cancellara can power up short climbs fairly well. The Worlds TT title he won in '06 had some fairly significant climbs in the middle .

In any case, the speed into / up the Poggio was high this year as the Leakygas train were turning themselves inside out bringing back Bettini and Rebellin. Chinny only popped out to join the others near the top. There were probably several riders who wnet up the

In 94, Furlan attacked and left the group on the Poggio so was doing all the work himself.

I was going to say the same thing (except with Ventoux instead of the Galibie)r. I have it in virtual reality on the Tacx iMagic trainer. I get up it up it fairly fast and I'm just a casual leisure cyclist.

It was on the downhill/flat where he finally cleared off anyway.
And why's there a big "No Image" thingummy-jig obscuring the link and half the post anyway?
Remember that you are an Englishman and thus have won first prize in the lottery of life.
