On the subject of critical mass
What a bunch of idiots.
I happened to come accross the London contingent of this lot the other day, who had apparently decided they wanted to free Tibet, Hmmm talk about jumping on a bandwagon.
Nobody aart from the few who stake out the chinease embassy in perpetual gave a damm about Tibet till this year, So I guess that makes it flavour of this month.
Whats next I wonder??
I'm all for legal protest and agree that somtimes this has to take a form other than 'static peacefull protest'
(Not that Critical mass is anything other than peacefull I'm sure)
But surley one of the aims of protest is to try and gain popular support from the populance and raise awareness of an issue.
Riding about with no lights on un roadworthy bikes just further alienates the public,
So come on critical mass, get some lights, get some ideas abit of orgnisation maybe and you might have some good ideas
in your present state you do absolutly nothing to promote london cycling or to promote safe cycling.
Although I must admit im quite impressed by the sheer number of fuzz who turn up on bikes and think that they probably do more to promote the safe and effective use of cycles than the rag tag bunch they escort)

Nice April fool!
It makes interesting reading when you replace 'bikes' with 'cars'.

Rob, you're full of it, CM is a peaceful celebration, it doesn't piss anyone off, we get applauded and cheered!
Come and see for yourself!
The Tibet protest had nothing to do with CM, by the way.0 -

If any of what you said was even remotely true I wouldn't have been CMing for over 12 years now, on a legal, roadworthy and lit bike.
You have an elitist view of protest which if applied generally would make the authorities very happy as very few protests would ever rise above about half a dozen participants. I was in RTS in the very early days when we did get literally 6 people on protests. When I was involved in the later RTS actions involving thousands I don't remember anyone complaining about the 'bandwagon jumpers' - I thought the idea was to mobilise as many people as possible.0
