Hi.
Due to the crap weather we have had this winter and lack of miles I decided to get one of these lights to enable me to get some speedy milkes in at night.
The light is very good but unfortunately when going at speed, if you hit a bump the battery comes out of it's holder and you loose your light !!
The battery holder is just an off the shelf holder and not really up to the job of holding the 4 batteries in place even in the little holder that comes with it.
Tonight my batteries popped out 4 times which was annoying.
Luckily I had some velcro strips holding another little light to my helmet so I took this and wrapped it around the 4 batteries in the holder, hey presto no more problems.
So my advice is to wrap a strip of velcro around the top and nottom of the holder, then put it in its little pouch then you have a good light :D

I just use an elastic band.

The problem did catch me out when I first got mine...I thought the batteries had gone and replaced them not knowing the problem was that one had slipped away from the contact....only discovered the true cause when I must have squeezed the loose one back in as I was taking another out and it started it's flashing routine.
I'd rather walk than use Shimano

The kit comes with a small strap for this very reason!

The small one at the bottom of the picture.

Aha, I though the extra bits were to mount it on helmet? :D There is one small velcro strap and another larger one.
I did not get any fitting instructions with the light at all and could not find anything on their site.
Anyway I have heavy duty velcro on top and bottom so no chance for them to come out now and it makes them fit more snuggly in the pouch :D
I normally carry 4 spare batteries as reserve also in the spre holder.

Another tip is to be careful with storing batteries in spare holders mid-ride....if the contacts touch coins or keys etc in your pockets you may get a bit of heat coming from your pocket....in my case enough to melt four contact shaped holes on the upper right cheek of my bib tights!!

Where do you mount the battery pack? Tied to the stem ?

You can buy battery holders in Maplins that do a better job of retaining the batteries. I've got one for my Dinotte and it's completely eradicated the problem of batteries popping out. The only drawback is that you have to wrestle the little buggers out when it's time to recharge them.

I put my messenger bag down one afternoon as I was about to get changed to go home from work and saw smoke coming out of it. Fished my spare batteries in their now very hot dinotte holder out and one of the contacts had been melted clean off the holder :o

I had this problem (with a battery coming loose) a couple of times as well, and now use the small velcro strap that came with the light to stop it happening.
