"All of us who were there, and who can speak up, should do so. "
Doesn't really tie in with your "keep quiet, don't put riders out of a job" line though does it Dave.0 -

he is not implicating whole teams and is quite general-unlike the sinketwiz and jacksche lousy plea bargains. Is your job or potential future in professional cycling on the line?0 -
Our syringes came gift wrapped in the morning and evening during stage races, and in the 2007 Tour de France one of my former roommates sat behind the wheel of a team car pulling feathers out of his hair.
I'm being a bit dense here, but who is he referring to there?0 -

Grewal was in 7-11 in 86, Breukink at Sakal 86 or Pansonic...not on same team I think0 -

I took it he meant a roommate at some point - If they were both on Panasonic at the same time EB is the obvious choice?
Grewals was Panasonic 85-86, Breukink was Skala 85 and Panasonic 86-89, so you are right0 -
Will Grewal hand the medal to Steve Bauer now?0

Bauer never asked for the cobblestone off Plankaert when he admited that he used EPOin the early 90s...0 -

I'm sure I'm being a bit dull, but is pulling feathers out of his hair a euphamism for something? What is he talking about?I was only joking when I said
by rights you should be bludgeoned in your bed0 -

I guess that they are chicken feathers - a reference to Rasmussen. Or maybe Alexi didn't give up the drugs when he gave up cycling.'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'0 -

Hasn't he found god and lost his teeth or something?
I also figured it was a Rasmussen reference.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
To be fair most of the US 1984 olympic team has been implemented for drugs years ago, so he needs to add little there, less is know about the trade teams. Although I'd like to know his thoughts on Chris Carmichael.0

One of the men most f@cked up from his time in cycling and what it implied emptying his heart is not enough for you?0

Theres a picture of him towards the end of the article. I can't see his teeth but does appear to have a rolled-up blanket under his arm.'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'0 -
Erm... I'm pretty sure it's actually Theo de Rooy - 1985 Panasonic member, Rabobank manager who lost his job over the whole Rasmussen thing???
Breukink was never on the same team at the same time as Grewal - 1986 was 7-Eleven for him, he'd moved on from Panasonic.0 -

Rabobank is essentially a continuation of that ligniage and Theo de Roo was a prominant member of T I Raleigh.Remember that you are an Englishman and thus have won first prize in the lottery of life.0 -

No but my job is on the line. I don't think he's being quite general either.0 -

20 years ago and none of the riders and support staff from then other than 2 or 3 are runnign these teams-very little connection.0 -

Very general--the team doesn't exist anymore. I'll make no apologies for taking the side of the clean amatuer or young pro who loses his job or can't get a new one in a year or two cause of cheats and dopers who confess to bring down teams to shorten their own sentence-losing sponsors.0 -
In the print edition of the Grewal thing, he says everyone he knew stepped over the line except Steve Bauer.
Lemond?
Hampsten?
Very interesting.
Where can I get Velonews in London town? I think i got it at Borders a while ago but havent seen it there in ages.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
Hurray for Steve!
hey, it's not often Canadian road cycling fans get to be patriotic.
Yeah Steve!0
