Which flatties should I buy?

I've decided to treat myself to a new set of flatties for my Giant Reign X0 since I'm out with a broken collar bone!
I really like the crank bros 5050xx pedals, but am concerned that they might be too heavy for my riding style, which is everything from long all day rides, to downhill thrashing, possibly with a slant towards the more extreme end.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

those sound like they would be just about right to be honest, i use dmr v12 mags and think they are ace, v8s feel just the same to be honest and i think there are welgo versions which offer the same features but are considerably cheaper.0

as above really - i have have had a couple of pairs of 5050xx's and they have been ace, also V12s which were also very good - recently I bought a pair of shimano DX which so far, are awesome.....0

V8's.....
As sheepsteesh said, I reckon they are just as good as the 12's but cheaperWhenever I see an adult on a bicycle, I believe in the future of the human race.

I had a set of 5050xx when they first came out and they were utter rubbish. Now grip, poorly made and the bearings seized in both.
My flattie of choice these days is the Shimano DX. Reasonably light, grippy and, like all things shimano, they're well made.East Anglia Biking Collective!

Yeah Shimano DX pedals are great, bought some for my BMX but put them on my MTB as they are too good to destroy on the BMX.
Thought those 5050's were prone to falling to bits ? or perhaps thats just an uninformed rumour I have picked up.0 -
I think there are rumours surrounding any product really.
My 5050's are excellent. they come with spare plates and pins anyway0 -
I do rather like my new 5050's all I did to ensure continued one piece'd ness was to loctite the grub screws that hold the plate on in place.
plenty of grip even in the wet, but then again I suppose my FiveTens help there0 -
atomlab GI's had 5050's found these to be far superior and much cheaper0

DX's all the way horse!
I've had mine on my BMX, my last mtb and I've just lashed them onto on my new Meta 5.5 VIP yesterday...brilliant and hard!0
