PMs staying in the outbox

I don't know if it is a problem, but firstly, I found a bundle of PMs in my inbox, but no notification showing for PM messages.
When sending a PM reply, sometimes I see the messaage go via the outbox then to the sentbox (as expected), yet other PMs appear to hang in the outbox. Have they been delivered or not ?

Recipe: shave legs sparingly, rub in embrocation and drizzle with freshly squeezed baby oil.

if the PM is in the outbox then the person you have sent it to has not read it.
when they read it it goes to the sentbox.
Some people just dont read there PM's
