Revolution Cyclo Cross Bike
Anyone tried one of the new Revolution (Edinburgh Bike Coop) cyclo cross bikes?
It seems pretty good value. Their road bike of the same price was budget bike of the year a few years ago.

I get the EBC newsletter and I saw this. Also fancied trying fixed/single speed.
I'm pretty much set on a lovely Wilier Izoard with Centaur Carbon Compact, Fulcrum 3's and DT1850s.
Must say I started having second thoughts. There are a couple of light trails and dolomite paths near me that take you off the beaten track, don't really require a fully fledged moutain bike but in order to get to them you don't want a knobbly 2.10 hardtail to get there to enjoy them and the bits in between.
Both the Langster and Crosser for a third of the cost of the Izoard. Handy considering my PC is on its way out and could do with replacing. Decisions, decisions. :?
Not sure about the kit on it though. My cheapo Diamondback full-susser had Tektro brakes. They were okay but nothing special :?. I've got Tiagra/105 on my Allez. Its been fine but do wonder how equipment levels below it would cope with having mud thrown at it regularly.0 -
Did around 4000 miles on their road bike without any problems and it survived through winter so their cross bikes probably similer. Only use it as a winter bike now because it was pretty heavy and thier cross bike looks the same.0

I'm thinking of racking one up and making an expedition bike out of it. What do you think? Lagavulin, I like your taste in whisky but bit off track what?
