After a run in with a tree  I now have a bike with wonky handle bars. The problem is I have no idea what I should be looking at for replacing them. I have a shockwave ct100 or something if that helps...

I've never heard of your bike but that shouldn't mater.
First thing you need to do is work out what diametre the bars are, you messure this rigt in the middle where the stem clamps on, the will be ethier 31.8mm or 25.4mm (if your bike is fairly cheap it should have the 25.4)
then just decide if you want flat or the riser style of bars.
They do come in many diffrent sweeps and bends so its better to go to a shop so you can feel them, they might even put them of for you.0 -
is there any make/materials i should avoid?
as for going to a shop, I have no idea where I can find one. Will halfords sell 'bars?0 -
Yes Halfords sell their own brand Bikehut bars for about £20 in both clamp sizes.0

Halford would do, just if you have them fit be sure to check it over yourself.
as for materials you will be looking at Aluminium mostly, you can get steel or carbon but steel is real heavy and carbon is pricey.
The halfords bike hut bars aren't to bad and are under £200 -
while I'm on the topic, although probally the wrong forum, before I bent the bars they were wobbling a bit and I tightened everything I could but they still moved about 1-2mm.
What can I do to stop this.0 -
That'll probably be the headset moving. How old is the bike? You might need a new headset...0

I've had it a couple of years, its a cheap bike though.
what bits the headset? after a long look its the part that has a 'machine tightened' sticker on it if that helps.0
