Unless I'm very much mistaken, Hosiescott, you already sold me the coolest fixed in this town (or the frame for it):

At least, it was the coolest til I bought this:

Sorry for going off-topic there - just excited to see one of my bike's former owners. If you like the Iverson and the eBay bike linked, however, it's worth a look at this FGG contest entry - built for under $150. It obviously doesn't mimic the geometry that well (look at the rake on that eBay bike!) but it's awesome, and something we could all do!

Big? Only the front ring is big. It had, at that time, a 20 or 22 at the back, and was way too low. Now it has a 15, which is too high really, even for the track (Calshot is my local track, and it's tiny!). I need to revise that once more. You mentioned a while back being interested in having the Dean back one day? If you do, let me know. I'm close to accepting that it's just too small, specially with the deep drop stem, and that I'd ride a lot more if I built those components onto a larger frame.

Didn't you have an HR Bates? I have one of those too, a BAR. It's also too small for me, but not so much that I won't rebuild it into a clubman bike, and ride it. FM rear hub, and everything - luverly.
