Possibly looking like the best race of the season:

Gilbert
Cancellara
Ballan
Boonen
Hoste
Gusev
Nuyens
Flecha
Pozzato
... would be a rough guess.

Anyone I'm missing?

    Chavanel?

  • Whoever wins Three Days of de Panne.

Or Cancellara as long as he doesn't f**k his tactics up like he did so spectacularly last year.

    Chavanel?

Apparently it'll be the first ever time he's ridden the Ronde. But then again it was also the first ever time he rode Dwars door Vlaanderen and Brabantse Pijl...

Also, from that list, Gusev is still recovering from a broken collarbone.

One other name I'd add: Stijn Devolder.
  • Ballan..... to make it 2 in a row

    Cancellara

    Gilbert

    Boonen for an outside bet!!

........And how far into the race befoe Duffers mentions 'Sackcloth & Ashes'....

My dark horse: Steegmans (as long as Boonen doesn't want him as his bitch for the day)

What about Voight as an outsider. In good form and not an obvious choice... actually... is he riding it...

Think it will be Gilbert or Cancellara mind..

If Cancellara can stay with the contenders over the Muur then he can power up the final wooded climb and get away over the 10 km to the finish.

Gasparotto is going pretty well also, but can't really see Barloworld being able to control the race.

What's the story with Boonen do you reckon. Nothing much since Qatar in Jan, or is he keeping his powder dry and the pressure off himself?

How can the poor lad keep the pressure off him... not possible this weekend...

has anyone actually found a way of watching un-interrupted coverage yet?

What bookie is that? Devolder is currently 60.00 at Betfair  Might have a sly £2 punt at those odds...

Well I've gone Gilbert. Betfair and PTP.
Really looking forward to this one.

Devolder, Arvesen and Gasparotto are good outside chances

I'd expect Chavanel and Steegemans to be b1tches for the day, but wouldn't rule out.
