Thule Roof Rack - Commencal 5.5

I have a thule roof roack kit which I currently use for my hardtail. This is the one with the arm whcih holds onto the bottom bar.

I am just about to buy a 2008 commencal 5.5 XT and noticed that the rear shock is roughly where the arm would normally grip onto my bar.

Does anyone know if the bike rack can hold the commencal or is there any alternative if it doesnt.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Can you take the rack along to the bike shop before you buy and see if it fits?

Also try posting the question on the Commencal Owners forum as someone may have the same bike rack as you.

Which Thule carrier is it?

I have the 591's & my mate's meta 5.5.3 fits fine.
