i am in the market for a new set of wheels, i have seen the fulcrum red metal 5 ones and they look like a bit if a bargain, 1.8kg and look the business and are only 115 quid.
does anyone have any or have they tried them?
i have looked at the usual options (pro 2 blah blah blah) and stil might go for a merlin build but wanted to check first to see if any one has any EXPERIENCE with these wheels. the price almost seems too good to be true and might be worth a punt even if they turn out to be plop.
ps, they are for my stumpjumper.

Fulcrum road wheels are normally well reviewed and the more expensive Fulcrums were compared favourably with Crossmax SLRs,so I reckon they should be good.
Weight looks good for the price.
I recently bought some nearly new XT/717 Merlin built wheels, form another bike forum and whilst they are nice tough, well made wheels, they aren`t that light.Merlin use the older XT hubs, which are heavier, and explains why they can do them so cheap.2006 Giant XTC
