Ultegra STI plate thing!

Hi guys and gals,
Just wondering: I have scratched the Ultegra shiny plate on top of the STIs. I was wondering if these are removable and able to be replaced? If so, does any one know where I can buy them from?
Also, with regards to chipping of paintwork, is there a cheap alternative? Has anyone used nail varnish before on their bike?

For chips, a normal high gloss paint is good,
as for the STI's, they do make the parts, but only like once or twice a year, so depending on when you order them depends how long you wait for them, not cheap either i dont think?0 -
