I got some off this guy on ebay a while back, he's still trading. Seems OK

  • Anyone looking for cheap CR2032 batteries could do worse than check out Tesco. Today I got a couple of Energizer multi-use cliplights for 75p each off a clip strip next to the light bulbs and torches. They come with two CR2032 batteries, so it works out at less than 38p each for branded batteries.

  • have a look at the flashy pet collars in wilkinson and poundland type places. Shows what a mark up there is on packet batteries

Buy mine in Poundworld in packs of (about) 8 for, err, a pound. Not the best (obviously) but don't seem too shabby.

    I bought these from Amazon:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Maxell-CR2032-2 ... 895&sr=8-6

Maxell CR2032 2032 Button Coin Cell Battery - 10 PACK - £2.24, so just over 22p per battery.

Thanks for that, and to the OP. I was going to order some today so that's nice karma.
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.

There's a bloke in our town centre who sells & fits watch batteries from his mobile kiosk, and knocks out 2032 cells for about 50p each IIRC. They last as well. Try locating one of them in your area.

Or - as alluded to earler - buy those flashing animal collars from Poundland that they also sell as cyclists safety gear. They were knocking them out at £1 for a two pack last winter, which makes them disposable or a good source of cheap batteries.

  • Are any of these cheap batteries any good..? I've bought cheap ones in the past (different makes) and none of them lastest very long.

I'll let you know - but having shelled out £9 on 4 batteries 2 months ago (already needing replacement) it would take a particularly crap product at 22p each to end up being bad value.

Glanced at the prices of these in Tesco Plus in Bristol this morning. £4 for a card of 2
Done the Amazon thing too. I've got too many lights usong 2032 batteries plus the ones in cadence sensors etc.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

I always buy Maxell and never had any trouble. The last lot I got worked out at 35p each. Beware of fakes and sellers selling them near their best before date. My recent order, which went back were all fakes. I compared it to my last lot and got Maxell to confirm it. They had lots of mistakes if you looked carefully. Like they had a picture of a calculator behind each battery, the genuine ones do to but it had 2 subtract buttons.
