Took my Trek EX 9.0 into my supplying lbs to have a new rear subframe fitted(long story)
....anyway picked it up last week, arranged to go out for a ride on sunday only to have the day spoilt by the chain jumping. No matter what i tried, it was fine for aprox one mile and then same again. Packed up early and came home, washed the bike off before checking for drive train problems only to find :

(sorry cant seem to get img in post ?)
Realy shocked that a Well known bike shop would let a bike go out with the mech cable wraped around a brake hose i did about 12mile on it like that and it had cut about half way through the brake hose ???? so glad i stopped when i did, mind you felt a bit daft not spotting it before but didnt look up there tbh :(
So check other ppls work its no guarantee that just because its been done by a shop its going to be any good ?

well you know what to do. take it back and get them to replace the hose and bleed the system FOC.

and then look for a better LBS

Thats not good !! Give them a chance to sort it out and regain your confidence or find a new LBS.

Apart from a few select jobs, removing cassette, pressing headset cups whom I only trust a very old fashioned 30 years in the trade chap everything I now do myself.

My local "DH" lbs don't have a clue - a big part of what they offer is a £40 - 6 months service, what exactly does this cover I can't do myself

Sometimes things do go wrong in the workshop no matter how careful you are. I don't think it's a sign of a poor mechanic or shop because it's not exactly evidence of a bodge, meerly an accident.
Provided that they sort out their mistake FOC I wouldn't make to big of a deal about it myseld really.

Cornering confidence generally increases with time and experience. This pattern continues until it falls sharply and suddenly.
