hi
i have signed up for this event in september. Just want to find out more information about the route, if anyone has done it before?

    I did last years short route, it's quite hilly but easily doable with the right gears. The climbs are the steep short nasty type that rear straight up for no more that a mile or so.

    The climbs were mostly in the first half of the route, the second half was fairly flat, with winds being the main problem. Marshals out in the wilds mean you shouldn't miss a turn, and they even had free energy gels at the start.

    Unless you're a super fit racer it'd be worth using a triple or compact chainset, I didn't and I suffered.
