i don't think it is a problem with material just these bars i used to run answer protapers and they felt solid as a rock, these ea50's just don't.0

The old Azonics were made from alloy and they were virtually indestructable so I don't think it's a materials issue either. Yes, steel 'feels' more bombproof but if it's designed well alloy can be every bit as strong.
If it's any help I've got the Havocs on my 'heavy duty' Uzzi and I've never had a problem with them feeling weak or not up to the job (and I'm 270lbs so most 'normal' sized people will be just fine.
£50 isn't expensive when you consider the potential cost of snapping a set of bars.0 -

And so did my Azonics when I screwed up a drop :-)
It's down to design at the end of the day. You can take a £10 set of alloy bars and snap them in an afternon but you can also have cheap steel bars pack up just as quickly.
The last steel bars I used were DMR wingnuts and they bent like they were made from brass. I'm not dissing steel, it's a great material when used properly - but it's just as easy to misuse as alloy.0 -
cheers for the advice i think i'll go with the havocs at the very least they match my stem lol0
