Was trying to avoid this but, which fork?

Right. Upgrading the front end on my Tyax Elite. Stock fork is heavy and flexy and blows through travel. I'm about 12.5/13 stone. Not a particularly smooth rider and ride XC and red/black trails. Also take in a few stairs on my commute.
I've done as much research as I can and it's down to the following two, both similarly priced.
Revelation 426 Coil U-Turn vs. Reba SL
Revs: Sturdier internally but heavier than the Reba, adjustable travel (feel like I could do with this on rough downhill sections), can stick it on a longer travel frame if I upgrade, coils are plusher/more reliable (?)
Reba: Good bit lighter than the Revs, more adjustable, will need to buy a shock pump, not as plush/reliable (?) and limited to 100mm travel.
I'm leaning toward the Revs. Really just looking for anything I've missed or is any of my information wrong?
Thanks!

You'd have to check whether running a longer travel fork like the Revelation would affect the handling0
-
it will, but with u-turn that wont be a problem. I'd check warranty though, could be an issue if the frame isn't strong enough.0

The frame is ok warranty wise. I checked that before anything else! I'm aware of the possible effects on handling. As far as going down hills is concerned, a handling change is exactly what I'm looking for.0

I run Revalations 426 coil u turns on both my bikes and can't fault them.0

The fork is worth more than the bike - just a thought. Is this a long term upgrade plan, or a one off buy?0

Yeah Sonic seems crazy I know, but this was the long term plan. Bought the Tyax when funds were tight to get some wheels under me. I'm upgrading as I find the limits of the equipment (quite quickly!) and eventually will probably upgrade the frame. I've already spent more than the bike cost on upgrades/replacements. The brakes (juicy 3), crankset (LX HT2), shifters (attack triggers), rear mech (xt shadow), and saddle (sdg bel air) so far. I'm enjoying creating a custom spec bike.
There is method to my madness!0 -
Makes sense when put like that. Be a good choice!0

Unless once you've cut the steerer its too short for whatever frame you buy in the future.
Spacers maybe?
Just a thought0 -
Yeah got that covered. Thanks anyway.0
