Jamis Ventura race?

I am looking for my first road bike and am thinking about a Jamis Ventura race for £600.
I have also been offered a Trek 1.5 for £500. Does anyone have any experience of either of these bikes.
The Jamis has 105 gearing, carbon front forks, seat post and rear forks. It seems very well specced. It will not be available until mid April so have not tested it yet.

I looked at a Jamis Xenith in the shop, which is the carbon version, looked pretty smart.0
