Are Hydraulic Brake Levers Interchangeable?

I've managed to snap one of my Giant MPH brake levers, and replacement ones are almost non-existent.
I've seen other makes of hydraulic lever, such as shimano and Avid sold separately.
Is it possible to use these levers, will the hoses connect?

Yes, tried a couple of local Giant dealers with no luck. They seem to think Giant spares are difficult to obtain

So my best then, is to change the entire system?

contact Giant UK and tell them their dealers say that they cant supply the parts that they are meant to....

but if you want to change brakes then the choice is yours.

Thanks, have emailed them. See if they can help.
  • I work for a giant dealer and spares are a doddle to get hold of, normally turn up the next day. Tell the shops to look on their B2B sites and there is even pictures on there to help them find the part.

Your LBS hasn't tried to sell you new brakes has he?
