Glasgow To Colchester
Myself and two friends are planning on cycling from glasgow to colchester to raise some money for charity. Has anyone got any advice on the journey, which will follow the national cycle network to edinburgh and then down to colchester?
The main questions involve:
1. The type of bike, I am a XC rider and only own a relatively lightweight mtb, would you recommend a different bike or any ideas on how to customise it to be more long distance friendly.
2. The time it would take, a friend suggests about 10 days, is this reasonable?
3. The training required, I work a full time gap year whereas the two friends are both uni students. I am probably the most experienced rider out of them all having ridden 50-60miles in a day a few times before, and am a pretty avid cyclist.
Is there anything else you could explain or suggest, I would be very grateful.
Thanks.[/b]
