NOT SO NEAR MISS
After 30 yrs no collisions
I was out for a ride on Good Friday while i was going along the London road heading into High Wycombe at about 16:15 i was just coming up to the Vw garage next to the Rye doing about twenty giving the traffic due consideration when as my right leg came up it was promptly joined and contacted by the left wing of a ford escort, needles to say i went flying, my bike went flying, i tumbled a couple of times and came to a standstill , my first instincts where to get my bike off the road and get the drivers number plate, unfortunately he was too far away to discern the registration number.
Once i had checked that i had no broken bones, and that my bike had not been badly damaged ( not neccesarily in that order )
I phoned the police , who dutifully attended 45 mins later
What horrified me most though was the fact that the offending vehicle ( black escort/orion ) did not stop or even make an attempt to do so, neither did any of the vehicles behind.
although a couple of pedestrians stopped to see if i was ok .
although when the police did arrive they said the saw nothing, which i find very hard to believe.
the police checked the cameras found nothing, so they said they could do nothing.
fortunately i only sustained road rash to my shoulder, forearm, and outer thigh
my helmet saved me from injury when my head impacted the kerb
but most importantly the only damage to my bike was the mech hanger
it only leaves me with a few parting words
to the cyclst out there : Stay sharp , Stay safe , and beware the pillocks in the cars
to the offending motorist of dubious qualification: May the Fleas of a thousand camels infest your nether regions and may the camels join in the party, p.s go to the opticians or at least get a guide dog you moron
all the cylists out there take care

Glad your OK. There's a lot of talk of the pros/cons of helmet cams going on at the moment. It's stories like yours that makes me think that they're a good idea.0

i tend to agree with you Eat my dust although a bike specific emp generator would be good too , although an rpg would be better0

Make a claim off the MIB under the untraced drivers scheme - it won't punish the driver, but you can get compensation for your physical injuries (not bike or clothing damage)- I got £1000 about 2-3 years ago after a similar incidentWant to know the Spen666 behind the posts?

I had a close one on Good Friday. Bloke almost brushed my elbow with his wing mirror. As he went past, I mouthed "That was a bit close", only for him to slam the brakes on, reverse up the road, jump out and ask me for a fight. Which was nice. :roll:0
