Its a great fork, but not upto the riding the Tora can handle and certainly not the DJ fork! The DJ would be the one to take for balls out thrills, the Tora for a tough AM fork with better performance.0
-
good, but not as stiff as tora's because the tora's are 32mm and made entirely out of STEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEL, which is strong.0
-
And bizareely the Tora 302 air and 318 air is lighter than the MX!0
-
then how heavy is the MX?
do both of those have MoCo?0 -
MX is 4.6lbs, the Tora 302 4.38lbs, the 318 4.5lbs.
318 has the motion control damper, the 302 the turneky lockout.0 -
Tora 318 has motion control, 302 does not."Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0

Then definitely get the 318 over the 302. I had the 318 solo air, and it was fantastic.0
-
Yep, got one too!
One of the best forks RS has ever made, when considering price as well.0 -
Not as nice as the 454 air u-turn pikes. I love them...0

Bang for buck though ;-)0

I don't quite understand why magazine reviews of Toras are never too great with all the people that say they are the best budget fork made? What is the magazines' problem?"Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0 -
Well, there is a difference in the 302, and 318, most noticably the damper - the latter has the same damper as the Pike, Recon, Reba, and Revelation, except adjustable floodgate, has the same lowers, bushings and seals as the Revelation, and same spring with the Uturn! The former has the lower grade damper, and its this one thats eems to get reviewed most, and it packs a bit of extra weight in, with the coil version. WMB did admit to making a mistake in the last mag with this fork! When first reviewed, the 318 was a 5/5.0

It was pretty fantastic, really took a beating before getting nicked...0
