In answer to the request for an out come to my question I set off to Evan's this afternoon with a copy of Massimo's post. The guy's at Evan's were very helpful and asked all the right questions. How many miles a week, replaced parts, all the things that indicate that the bike has been used. It helped that I rode my mountain bike off road at every opportunity on the way in, very muddy and wet. And having used it at the weekend and not had the chance to clean and lube etc; funny that, how time can work against us...... even had a flat en route so the rear wheel was a little low! Anyway the guy's felt that it was in fair condition and as such based on the info provided by Massimo was worth 6% of the original cost. So on a £1800 mountain bike, I saved £354. I couldn't have achieved that with 10% off with my LCC membership. So thanks Massimo for the info, the guy's at Evan's kept it for other owners.
On balance I would use it again, but DO THE HOMEWORK first! Thanks all0 -
No problem - happy to help
...and talking of R2W my company informed me on Friday that they had made a mistake and had been sacrificing too much of my salary for my bike for the last 11 months - the Finance Director apologised and gave me a cheque for £257.33!!!
Hurrah!!!Crash 'n Burn, Peel 'n Chew
