Probably doing something really stupid,
in the process of re-fitting my 105 calipers after a real good clean, and cant seem to align them properly, are you supposed to tighten the allen bolt (fitting the complete unit to the bike) real tight, or loose.
help much appreciated.
normally fairly good with this stuff, but its been 10yrs since i have worked on a bike, and having a blank.
cheers

The 5mm bolt behind the brake assembly must be tight, but not over tight!!! After that, center your brake using the little Phillips screw on top, and adjust the cable tension...

cheers, that seems to have worked, I was doing that, but was expecting (before the procedure had finished) something different, not seeing it through
thanks again.0 -
Found it easier to do the bolt up loosely, do the cable tension then undio the bolt and apply tghe brake and tighten the bolt up and use the screw as a last resort.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0
