rim’s joint opening/slash
I have built a pair of wheels with new Mavic CXP22 rims.
Opposite to the valve hole I can see an opening/slash in a straight line through the rim. Possibly is the rim’s joint. It looks like half welded and mostly on the braking wall is slightly open. Both rims are the same.
Is this ok, or it is a manufacturing fault?

Certainly doesn't sound right! It'd tear your brakes to bits apart from anything else, surely?
Can you post a picture?Even if the voices aren't real, they have some very good ideas.0 -
I am not having a camera with me at the moment but I’ll try to post some pictures later this afternoon0

Traditionally, all rims were 'pinned' at the joint like this - there's always a noticeable edge, but it wears down with braking. More recently, rim joins have been welded and machined flush - typically on higher model rims like Open Pros.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
