Good value Road/Racing bike?

I'd put Specialized, Trek, etc. on a rung above Claud Butler though.0

To be honest I'm more looking at the second hand ones. Being brand new doesn't really bother me. A lot of the bikes I'm looking at are really low mileage and the depreciation on a bike that's done 50 miles and is more or less new looks good to me.
Thanks for the help though, its all posi.0 -
Pauly, I think that is a good approach, depreciation is massive and you can get better second hand - IF you know what you are looking for/at. Be careful with that and good luck.0

Part of the problem is that I have no idea what I'm looking for, haha. That's why I made this thread. All the help has been great though.0

Hows about this one:

I do think there is better to be had, but if it goes for £200 or so it won't be a bad deal.Felt F70 05 (Turbo)
Marin Palisades Trail 91 and 06
Scott CR1 SL 12
Cannondale Synapse Adventure 15 & 16 Di2

Can anyone tell me which are the good bikes out of the ones I've been offered? The topic is called 'Wanted: Road/Racing bike 56cm'. Thanks!0

Can't see the ebay auction on my work computer but the other 2 look like good options. Assuming they're in good condition. Wouldn't go too far wrong there. Always worth a look in your local free ads if you haven't already. A Specialized Allez or two is usually to be found in there somewhere and they are good solid starter bikes.0

Thanks, I've looked at alez's but they always seem to go for about 500.0

I'm looking at Allez triathlon bikes. Will these be any good for long distance journeys? I dont want to buy one and then find out i wont do more than 25 miles.0
