This is far too serious a topic for Cake stop,

Except the bit about the Cake stop you had LOL

But for true interval training you should have had 2 stops for cake, or maybe an apple pie and custard

Far too serious. So continuing to avoid the nasty training associations.........

Jus read Hutchinson's book on his hour attempts. He describes the brutal aspects of 2 x 20 min intervals and one coach who was obsessed with them and berated all his riders to do them. This coach particularly emphasised getting the resting period between intervals right - aim for 2 - 3 mins maximum (sadist).

So the conversation with one of his star riders (not a fan of intervals) went like this.

How did the 2x 20 intervals go?
    Fine.

    Any problems?
    None

How long did you leave between intervals?
    Three months.
