TT wheels

As the evening 10 season approaches, I'm thinking about getting some TT wheels that I don't really need and can't afford (you know how it is). Have narrowed the choice down to Easton EA90 TT (alloy clincher) or Corima (mega bling), I don't want a disc as I ride out to events and it can get a bit windy round here (plus there's a hairy descent on the way out to our 10 course) and I gave up faffing around with tubs about 20 years ago. Any views, or experience of these wheels? Head says Easton, but the Corimas look sooo good.

  • Hi there.

The Eastons have a 31mm deep rim - which isn't really deep enough to justify their use as dedicated TT wheel - imho.

For that sort of budget, why not look at Planet X 50s or the Dalkiia 60mm wheels?

    Cheers, Andy

ps The front wheel is the most important one - you can worry about a disc later.

Good advice. For TTs you need around 50mm depth on the front and difficult to beat Planet X in VFM terms. BTW you'd be surprised by how little you notice a disc on the rear in the wind but the front is the one that you need to sort out first.
