I have an Allez Sport, i have read on numerous occasions on this forum that the first thing to do is upgrade the wheels. I'm no expert, my wheels seem fine, but when I eventually need or want to upgrade my wheels, what would you suggest

£100 -120?
or is it worth saving for better wheels
I really haven't a clue0 -
Personally I'd go for Quest Como wheels - strong and not expensive. I've got 2 pairs and they are just as good as wheels 2 or 3 times the price.

They're probably not much of an upgrade given the weight of aroung 2kg though. Better to save and get something a little lghter if you can stretch to it - changing tyres is a good upgrade though and often overlooked.Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos0 -
i'd disagree on that one actually i had a pair of these on an allez and they definitely felt like an updgrade from the stock wheels.... the hubs seem to be very good and just want to roll forever.
anyhoo... if you've a budget of up to about 120.... you could maybe get a set of fulcrum 5's which would be an excellent upgrade. you might need to get them from cyclesuperstore.ie , comobike.it or jedi sports maybe.========================================

Not sure what year your Allez Sport is (I think they come with Jalco rims on Spesh hubs now) but mine came with rubbishy wheels.
You might find a set of Fulcrum 5's for that but could certainly get a pair of Aksiums.
I invested in a cheap set of Aksiums (2007 model) for the winter and they've been good. A definite improvement on what came with the bike.
For 2008 the Aksiums have been on a diet too.0 -
Many thanks for all your views, gives me a little better idea on what to buy0
